| Title |
Development of a monograph on best practice in policing licensed premises |
| Description |
This project aims to consolidate the existing knowledge base on policing of licensed premises into a National Drug Strategy Monograph which:
1. highlights best practice in international policing (and other regulatory responses that could be used by police) to reduce the alcohol-related harm associated with licensed premises;
2. identifies innovative practices that aim to reduce the alcohol-related harm associated with licensed premises located in rural and remote areas and in areas with a high proportion of Indigenous inhabitants;
3. identifies environmental features and serving practices of licensed premises that are associated with low levels of alcohol-related harm, and the methods that police can use to encourage the adoption of these;
4. identifies any particularly useful legislative tools that are in operation internationally;
5. summarises policy, operational and project-based documentation from police services in Australia concerning their responses to licensed premises;
6. identifies gaps that exist in the knowledge base on this issue and makes recommendations as to how these gaps could be addressed |
